Scott Abry brings over 38 years of experience in business as a Managing Director and Partner at Oppenheimer and Co., Branch Manager, Director of Business Practices, Director of Business Development and Director of Product and Field Strategic Initiatives at Smith Barney and Morgan Stanley.
Scott then became President and Founder of Abry Advisors LLC in 2011, a national Executive Recruiting and Consulting Firm, which rebranded to Makari Group. In 2014 Scott was a Founding Partner of Steward Partners with three former colleagues from Smith Barney.
He started and became CEO of Steward Partners Consulting Solutions, as well as a Member of the Board of Directors at Steward Partners Holdings. Steward Partners is one of the fastest growing independent firms in the history of the channel.
He led the effort to launch Investment Advisory and Wealth Management Firms throughout the country based on a “Culture of Caring”, which puts clients first and is inclusive of all employee ownership. He has recently advised on the launch of 10 RIAs 8 of which grew to over $1 billion in AUM, as well as M&A for two NY area Family Offices. Scott brings an extensive knowledge of senior management and platforms at all the firms on Wall Street, in every channel.
Scott is also very involved in his community volunteering as a Facilitator at the Den for Grieving Kids and Westhill High school in CT. He was Treasurer and on the Board of Directors of PEHT (Partnership to End Human Trafficking). As one of the founders at PEHT, Scott helped to raise funds to launch several homes for women who have been freed from trafficking. In addition, he helped launch a social enterprise that sells Pet products under the PEHT brand and provides employment opportunities for the survivors. He is currently working with several groups in the US to rescue children from sex trafficking and build more recovery homes.
Scott served as an Elder at Tower Hill Presbyterian Church in Red Bank, NJ. He graduated from American University with a degree in Finance and a degree in International Business, prior to that he graduated from Tabor Academy. Scott and his wife of 39 years, Christine, have four daughters and three grandchildren.
